Jaris Mujica is the director of research at Peru’s Institute of Criminology. Specialized in criminal organization patterns and the economics of crime, he has served as head of the internal affairs office of the Peruvian prison system; head of the information unit of Peru’s anti-corruption prosecutor’s office; and commissioner of the anti-corruption unit of the ombudsman in Peru. He has published a number of books and articles on corruption, cocaine trafficking, illegal logging and human trafficking, with a focus on the Andean and Amazon regions.
